While they jostle and stir to buy presents and make special meals, they convey little about Christ.
Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord. Hebrews 12:14
What do they attribute to him during this time?
Amidst the beauty of creation, they are overloaded with planning and preparing.
What is to blame?
Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood. Acts 20:28
- It’s not hardware that’s the problem – cars, computers, phones, TVs, switches, outlets.
- Nor is it software – computer programs like microsoft, chrome, firefox, google, windows.
- Neither is it firmware – instructions that control those computing devices.
The problem usually resides with the wetware – the humans.
As they bustled, hassled, trodden, and prepared:
We – as Christ’s disciples – patiently waited, and still do, for the time when our minds, bodies, and souls perfectly embrace the love, peace, and joy that is promised.
Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Luke 12:32
And yet, we too are still maturing.
Our wetware continues to ripen and bud.
Truth is, we’re all still learning.
We don’t always know what’s best for us.
We study, absorb, and learn as we go.
Until the day we delight with pleasure in the presence of the King.
And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. 1 Peter 5:4
The King who they appear to honor, but whom was overlooked.
He lives in us. Romans 8:10, 2 Corinthians 4:6-7, Galatians 2:20, Galatians 4:19.
Let us be at peace among ourselves in all things.
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm. John 18:36
And safeguard your minds, bodies, and souls to abide in love, peace, and joy.
